A big part of my role running the Design and Creative function at Freeman was helping to bring together multiple and very different groups of designers—scenic designers, digital designers, 3D designers, art directors, copywriters, creatives, and the engineers and administrators that support them all. Prior to my tenure, many of these roles sat in different functions and divisions and there was, initially, a palpable sense of siloing and ‘othering.’ 

In an effort to help remedy that, I began the tradition of pulling together an annual report for the department that was designed to help celebrate the group and show all the amazing work that we were doing together.
